Trip Cancellation
Helps reimburse up to 100% of your non-refundable trip costs if you have to cancel your plans for a covered reason, including certain unexpected events that occur before your trip.
Trip Delay
May provide coverage for trip delays of 12 hours or more, reimbursing up to $200 per day per person, with a maximum benefit of $600.
Baggage Delay
May cover up to $300 for necessary personal items if your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected for 24 hours or more.
Emergency Medical Benefit
May offer coverage up to $25,000 for eligible medical expenses resulting from an unexpected illness or injury while traveling, with a dental expense sublimit of up to $750.
Emergency Medical Evacuation

Optional pet benefits may include:
- Pet Kennel: Coverage for necessary additional kennel expenses up to $1,500 per trip if you are delayed past your Scheduled Return Date for at least 12 consecutive hours due to a covered Trip Interruption or Trip Delay.
- Pet Return: Coverage up to $1,000 per pet to help return your pet home if you are hospitalized and unable to travel due to a covered sickness or injury. Arrangements must be pre-authorized.
- Pet Travel Medical Expense: Coverage up to $5,000 per trip for eligible emergency veterinary expenses if your pet becomes ill or injured while traveling. The $5,000 benefit is an aggregate limit for all pets accompanying you on the trip.

Under the North America Explorer Travel Protection plan,Trip Cancellation coverage begins at 12:01 a.m. the day after the required plan cost is received. Coverage for other benefits begins when you depart on your first travel arrangement and ends when your trip is completed, you reach your scheduled return date, or the trip is canceled, whichever occurs first.
Does the North America Explorer Travel Protection plan include coverage if my trip is delayed?
Yes, the North America Explorer Travel Protection plan covers trip delay. If your trip is delayed at least 12 consecutive hours due to a covered unforeseen reason, the North America Explorer Travel Protection Plan may reimburse eligible prepaid, non-refundable expenses and reasonable additional costs, up to $200 per day per person, with a maximum of $600, subject to plan terms and conditions.
What is covered under Ancillary Medical Evacuation?
Ancillary Medical Evacuation may cover transportation for dependent children to return home if you are hospitalized or unable to travel, and bedside visit transportation for one person if hospitalized for more than seven consecutive days. Coverage is subject to plan limits and conditions.
Who can travel to visit me if I am hospitalized?
If you are hospitalized for more than seven consecutive days and traveling alone, the plan may cover round-trip transportation for one person you choose to join you at your bedside, up to the maximum benefit amount.
Does the North America Explorer Travel Protection Plan cover emergency medical expenses for my pet while traveling?
Optional Pet Medical coverage under the North America Explorer Travel Protection plan may reimburse you if your pet suffers an injury or sickness during a covered trip that requires emergency treatment by a veterinarian, up to the maximum benefit amount. Coverage applies to pets accompanying you on the trip.
Are there any exclusions for Pet Kennel Expense?
Yes. The Pet Kennel Coverage may reimburse necessary additional kennel fees if you are delayed past your Scheduled Return Date for at least 12 consecutive hours and have a covered Trip Interruption or Trip Delay claim. Your pet must have been placed in a licensed commercial kennel, and receipts and supporting documentation are required. Coverage is subject to plan terms and conditions.
